Day 3 of 6
Nurturing Actions
This is the joyful, playful part of the journey. After recognising and meeting your inner child, Day 3 is where you start actively giving them what they always needed — through five small, real-life acts of self-kindness.
How it works
Little experiments in being kind to you
Each Nurturing Action is an experience, not an essay — something you actually go and do, then gently notice. There’s no right way to do them and no way to fail. Every one ends with the same simple question: how did it feel?
The five actions
Your invitations to play
Laugh at a mistake
Notice when you make a mistake — and instead of scolding yourself, laugh at it and carry on. The inner child learns that getting it wrong is safe.
Be selfish for one day
For one whole day, do only the things you want to do. No shoulds, no obligations — just a day that belongs entirely to you.
Make a free choice
Give yourself the freedom to make a choice you would normally never make for yourself — big or small, simply because you can.
Take a risk
Try something you'd usually shy away from for fear of it going wrong. Let the younger you discover that daring can be delightful.
Ask to be cared for
Ask someone to look after you — cook you dinner, make you a cuppa, run you a bath. Receiving care is a skill the inner child deserves to relearn.
Afterwards
How did it feel?
Back together as a group, we share what happened — the giggles, the wobbles, the surprises. Often the smallest action turns out to be the biggest doorway. Whatever you notice is exactly right.
